Ass Umptions
/Are you so sure your assumptions are right?
Or, are you being a stubborn ass about what you assume to be right?
Are you so sure your assumptions are right?
Or, are you being a stubborn ass about what you assume to be right?
Two realities. The one you imagine, and the one that follows. Choose carefully what you imagine.
What you start sling shots you to the next, and so on, building momentum as you go. If you get too close, too attached, you’re trapped, and not able to launch to the next.
Stuck, even though successful, is still stuck, a sitting duck.
Worst responses; “But…” “Understood…”
Better responses “I agree with you, and…” I respect your opinion, and…” “I appreciate what you have said, and…”
An inferential listener immediately takes action from what they have heard regardless of whether they were explicitly told to take action or not.
A direct listener must be explicitly told to take action, they will never infer it.
An inferential speaker assumes the implications of what they have said, the hints, are enough for the listener to understand what action must be taken.
A direct speaker says exactly what must be done.
An inferential speaker with a direct listener will go nowhere. Nothing has been communicated, nothing will happen. An inferential listener with an inferential speaker will be off in all directions. Lots of activity. But nothing will happen.
Safe bet - be direct - speak little, well.
