Be Cato, Epictetus, Marcus…
Be is a verb, not an end in itself, not a noun.
Be aspiring to do better.
It’s the journey and it’s okay that we never get there. Just as long as we sign up for the journey and put one foot after the other towards what we want to “be”.
Go deep
Think hard
Ignore everything else
Do the important
Do the heavy lifting, deep thinking
Stop tabbing
Stop checking
Turn off the dings, the pops, and whatever else crackles, actually, never turn them on
Start thinking
It’s go time
Every situation, regardless of how frustrating or angry it might make you feel, is an opportunity for a course correction towards what you want. Maybe even an acceleration towards what you want.
Assuming of course that you know what you want. Right?
And you’re not so caught up in the emotion of the moment that you miss the opportunity.
Forbearance wins the day.

What happens, happens, and this is exactly what I expected to happen.
Wish for what is. Thank it.
To learn, to grow, we have to be very comfortable with “I don’t know”. Followed by “I want to know”.
And to realize that every moment is a learning moment. There is no point in time that ignorance and complacency have to prevail.
